If 2025 didn’t exactly turn out how you imagined and you’re ready for 2026 to be your year, this post is for you. 😌I’ll show you step-by-step how I’m rebranding myself as a marketer for 2026 with a refreshed brand personality, a much-needed website update, and a shiny new social media strategy. All with the help of Copyfolio, ofc. 💅

Hi, I’m Dorka, a content marketer who constantly talks about the importance of having a killer personal brand and a cohesive online presence… and yet has been procrastinating creating hers for years. 😅It’s getting a little embarrassing, so let’s change that.

What does rebranding yourself even mean?

Wait… isn’t branding for companies? What does it even mean to rebrand myself?

Fair question.

Did you know that whether you did that on purpose or not, you already have a personal brand? How you look and post on social media, how you chat to people online, and what your website looks like (if you have one) add up. And the image people have of you based on all that is basically your brand. 💁‍♀️

Rebranding yourself means getting clear about who you are, what you want to be like, and what you want to achieve. First, just for yourself. Then taking it into your own hands and working on that being the image you show everyone in your online presence.

Do I really need that?

Not necessarily. But here are a few signs that say it might be time for a rebrand (or even just a lil personal brand refresh):

  • You’re burned out and not excited about your job anymore. You deserve to feel excited and fulfilled about what you do. If you’re just waiting for each day to end, it’s clear something needs to change, and a rebrand can give you some ideas for that.
  • You just feel ready to finally get your life together. You know the feeling when you’ve meant to do something for so long but somehow keep putting it off? The secret to finally getting around to it is choosing tools that make it easy (read on for that. 👀)

  • You keep trying new things, but nothing feels right. Trying trends for posts and projects feels fun, but if none of them are authentic to you, they’ll just make you look like a mess. Once you’ve found the right direction, you won’t want to keep hopping onto the next.
  • Your online presence feels all over the place. You have silly trend videos on TikTok, vacation selfies on IG, and then try to be the thoughtleader to follow on LinkedIn. If you have multiple different personas floating around online, it’s time to figure out where and how they can all meet.
  • People around you don’t notice you or have the wrong impression. You have the skills and the hard work, but somehow the recognition is missing. Luckily, working on making you visible is the easier part of success, so working on your personal brand can have a big impact for you.
  • You want change but have no clue what to do next. You might have all the energy and motivation, ready for the next step, but it’s hard to move forward if you don’t know what that step actually is. Figuring out what makes you unique and what you can achieve with that will give you the direction you need.

Branding basics: my brand personality & tone of voice

Starting with the basics, I’m figuring out what makes me unique and how I want to sound and feel when I’m posting and interacting with people. Because the foundations of a strong online presence and brand are knowing who I’m talking to, what I want to say, and what I want to achieve with it.

I could totally try to research all of these one-by-one, but I actually have something way more efficient: Brandi.

Brandi is Copyfolio’s AI branding coach you can talk to anytime, for free, to figure out your brand. I love how the chat feels both like talking to my big sister with the way she writes, but also like working with a professional coach with the things she asks.

I’ve been chatting with her these past few days whenever I had time, and we’ve already figured out:

  • My secret sauce aka USP that shows what makes me different from other marketers
  • My brand personality traits that I can refer to when I’m creating content to make sure it feels authentic
  • My tone of voice so my words specifically resonate with my audience

It’s all come from me (Brandi’s only asking questions) but somehow I feel like I couldn’t have gotten to these by just sitting down with a pen and paper. The wonders of personal branding coaches, I guess.

Updating my online presence: website & portfolio

Once we ironed out my tone of voice, Brandi helped me write a tagline and even updated it on my website. So putting all these into practice was even easier to start than I planned.

And since that feels like the most overwhelming part of it all, it was exactly the nudge I needed.

The much-needed website update

With the headline done, I chose a new photo that matched my brand personality and rewrote the copy on most of my website pages. Sometimes I referred back to Brandi, sometimes I used the “Apply my tone” option in the text editor. And you know what? I was done with all that in about 20 minutes—after putting it off for 20 months.

Another thing I really needed to do (to put myself out there like the marketing expert I am) was finally add a marketing portfolio. Why haven’t I done that before? Honestly, I got overwhelmed by all the different projects I’d worked on, trying to pick the best ones, then figuring out how to showcase them.

Brandi was my supportive little sounding board, letting me talk about all the different kinds of projects, helping me choose, and suggesting ways to display them all. In the end we settled on:

  • a case study, showing how I built up the SEO of a brand-new blog to reach DR72 and 24k monthly organic traffic with no ads,
  • another one on the digital marketing version of mixed media, aka how to integrate different content formats for SEO success,
  • and a video gallery with some of my favorite and best-performing short-form videos

Once I knew what to add and what to write about each, it went fairly quickly. Brandi offered to even help me write the case studies, but I was in such a flow, I wanted to do it myself. 😌

Look-wise, I haven’t changed much other than the photo, as the color palette and fonts I already had still fit the vibe. So rebranded website: check.

Making it actually easy to post consistently: my new strategy

Full disclosure: this is the step I’m currently on right now. As the last part of my 2026 brand refresh, I’m ready to finally get active again on social media. No, really.

Having to post consistently, coming up with ideas, actually creating the content, and remembering to post it all… 🫣 It can feel overwhelming, and that’s what holds most of us back, isn’t it?

So, in theory, if you make this part easy, it won’t be as intimidating, and it’ll feel much easier to start. You can guess the best hack I found to finally start posting on social media consistently: it’s Brandi.

Once we were done with the basic brand assets and my website, our chat moved onto my shiny new social media strategy. It was great to have Brandi remind me why I’m doing this and help me bring structure to the chaos that is my social media presence right now. 🥲

Here’s what we came up with in the end:

Now I know which platforms to focus on (Instagram & LinkedIn), where to set my profile private (TikTok), and even what topics to focus on. I love how Brandi’s given me my content pillars based on which I can plan my posts—and that she’s always here if I need help with scripts or captions too.

Here’s how you can easily rebrand yourself too

You can easily follow the same blueprint (is that too corporate-y of a word?) that I did and let Brandi guide you through the process. All it’ll take you is a little bit of time. An hour or so, maybe?

Although Brandi is an AI branding coach, chatting with her won’t be like filling out a basic brand identity questionnaire. Expect her to make you think and not let you get away with half-assed answers. Because if you give generic replies, the end result will be much the same.
